Privacy Policy

This page explains what information this site collects, why, and who it's shared with. It covers the free Linux/Networking+/cybersecurity training (flashcards, quizzes, games, leaderboard) and the homelab services request system on cheesecaked.tech.

Information We Collect

• Account/login info: if you sign in (via Google, Microsoft, Proton, or email link), we store your email address and a session identifier so the site knows you're logged in.
• Game scores: the leaderboard stores a username (or "anonymous" if you don't provide one), your score, the game category, and a timestamp. No account is required to play the games.
• Service requests: if you request a paid homelab service (media access, tutorials, web design), the request form collects your name, email, phone number, and details relevant to that request. This is only collected if you submit that form — it has nothing to do with the free training content.
• Basic technical data: like most websites, standard request logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) are generated automatically by the hosting/CDN layer for security and performance purposes.

How We Use It

Account and request information is used only to operate the service you asked for — logging you in, responding to a service request, or recording a game score on the leaderboard. We do not sell your information to anyone.

Cookies & Local Storage

The site uses browser local storage and session cookies to remember whether you're logged in and which study tab you last had open. These are functional, not advertising trackers we control directly.

Third-Party Services

A few outside services are used to run or support this site, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Amazon Associates: the "Resources" tabs on the Linux+ and Network+ pages contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases. Amazon may set its own cookies when you click through — see Amazon's Privacy Notice.
• Ko-fi: the "Support This Project" button links to an external Ko-fi page. No payment or donation information is collected or seen by this site — that's handled entirely by Ko-fi.
• Google Fonts: page fonts are loaded from Google's font CDN, which may see your IP address as part of serving the font files.
• Cloudflare: this site is served through Cloudflare, which sees standard connection metadata as part of providing performance and security protection.
• Google Search Console: used so this site can appear properly in Google Search results. It doesn't add tracking to your visit beyond normal search indexing.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Choices

You can use the free training content, flashcards, quizzes, and games without ever creating an account or submitting a form. If you've submitted a service request or created an account and want it removed, contact us using the request form on the site and mention this policy.

Changes to This Policy

If what's collected or how it's used changes meaningfully, this page will be updated with a new "last updated" date above.
